Sam Altman-backed Oklo Inc. agreed to deliver as much as 750 megawatts of electricity from nuclear reactors it plans to build to two data center companies, as technology companies seek to line up energy supplies for the booming industry.

Oklo (NYSE:OKLO) +10.4% pre-market Wednesday after saying it received letters of intent and is partnering with two unnamed data center providers to deliver up to 750 MW of low carbon power for data centers across the U.

The Biden administration released the document on Tuesday, but with President-elect Donald Trump heading back into the White House, there’s no telling whether the plan will ever become a reality. That said, the nuclear industry has gained a fair amount of bipartisan support — not to mention buy-in from big tech.

President Biden announced a new initiative to triple American nuclear energy from 2020 levels by increasing capacity to 200 gigawatts by 2050.

The Biden administration on Tuesday released a roadmap for plans to triple U.S. nuclear capacity by the middle of the century. The plan sets a goal of 200 gigawatts of new capacity by 2050, more than three times the 2020 capacity.
