As a USF freshman in 1979, current Bulls softball coach Ken Eriksen recalls a male student selling lemonade outside a nondescript university building, indicating all proceeds would go to the creation of a USF football program.

On Friday, school officials, students, athletes, alumni and local and state dignitaries were on hand as ground was broken on a on-campus stadium. School officials say the facility will be a game changer for the athletic department as well as the university itself.

After many years of talks and extensive planning, crews will finally break ground on USF's new on-campus football stadium on Friday.
